Spring Cleanup & Paper Shred
Spring Cleanup

- Shorewood Public Works, 24200 Smithtown Road (enter from east on Smithtown Road)
The City of Shorewood organizes an annual drop-off event to help residents recycle appliances, electronics, and other items that cannot be recycled curbside. The event is always held on the third Saturday in May from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Arrive early to make sure your items can be unloaded by 1 p.m. The drop-off is located at Shorewood Public Works.
Spring Cleanup is open to Shorewood residents only. A driver's license or other ID with your Shorewood address is required. Fees may apply. Payments must be made with cash or check.
NO household hazardous waste or paint accepted at this event. Hazardous materials can be brought to Carver County Environmental Center, 116 Peavey Circle, Chaska, MN 55318.
Paper Shred Event
- Saturday, May 16, 2026
- 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. (or until truck is full)
- Shorewood City Hall, 5755 Country Club Road (enter from south on Country Club Road)
A free shred event is held in the City Hall parking lot on the same day as the clean-up event. Please do not shred non-necessary papers, such as newspapers, junk mail, and papers without secure information. Shredding takes place on-site.

- Follow the signs and stay in line.
- Stay in your vehicle. Volunteers willremove your items for you at the
drop-off and paper shred events. - Event will be shut down during inclement weather.
Drop-Off Event Only
- Be prepared to show your driver's license or other proof of Shorewood residence.
Fees may apply. Be prepared to pay with cash or check only.

Although opinions differ on exactly what to shred, basically know that you should:
- Gather up and shred any documents containing signatures, account numbers, social security numbers, credit information, and any legal or medical information (including tax forms, checks, pay stubs, etc.).
- Dispose of general mail, newspapers, catalogs, and flyers in your recycling cart. These items do not need to be shredded.
- Bring items you’d like to shred in paper bags or boxes.
- Do not bring any three-ring binders, plastics, trash, plastic bags or nonpaper items. These will be returned to you.
- Do not bring paper that is already shredded.

Volunteers Needed!
