Road closure
The project team will be working on Birch Bluff Road from Pleasant Avenue to the beach Monday, July 8, through Friday, July 12. Birch Bluff Road and Pleasant Avenue will be closed to thru traffic, as shown in the map below. Smithtown Road is the recommended detour route.
Access to homes will be maintained, but there may be short-term traffic disruptions such as when the project team is moving equipment around. Please allow extra time to get in and out of the area.
For the sake of safety and efficiency, the project team is asking homeowners on Birch Bluff Road, Pleasant Avenue and Brentwood Avenue to reduce trips in and out.
Crescent Beach will also be closed Monday, July 8.
Water shutoff
Water will be shut off from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. for all properties on Birch Bluff Road on Monday, July 8. Water may be turned on sooner, but please plan to be without water until 6 p.m.
It’s helpful to fill up a bathtub with water before the shutoff to use for flushing the toilet. Simply use a pitcher to pour water into the toilet to flush. It’s also helpful to have water prepared before the shutoff for drinking and cooking.
