The City has contracted with Bargen Incorporated to apply a clear bio-based pavement sealer on various roadways throughout the city on Tuesday, September 16. The sealer penetrates the asphalt to preserve and extend the life of the pavements. The product has a citrus smell shortly after application and fades as the product cures. The pavement sealer will also make the pavement feel slick for the first 24 hours after application but will also fade as the product cures. Please try to avoid driving on these streets for at least 30 minutes after the pavement sealer is applied. It will take 3 days to complete this process.
Scheduled roads include: Boulder Circle, Church Road, Strawberry Lane, Strawberry Court, Peach Circle, Birch Bluff Road, Spruce Hill Court, Maple Street, Oak View Court, Murray Court, Murray Street, Bracketts Road, Whitney Circle, and Chestnut Court
Allied Blacktop is tentatively scheduled to complete the crack sealing process the week of September 29 or the week of October 6.
