Every fall and spring, the City of Shorewood sweeps all streets to keep them clean and to comply with the City’s stormwater permit. It takes approximately three to four weeks to sweep all 50 miles of Shorewood’s streets. Our goal is to collect as much organic matter and debris as possible preventing it from polluting our local watershed. All materials collected are hauled away and disposed of.
To help street sweeping efforts, please:
- Please move all vehicles off the streets, if you see crews in your area.
- Do NOT sweep leaves, dirt or additional garbage in the streets.
- Do NOT put garbage and recycling carts in the streets when the sweeper is in your area.
