To prepare for the upcoming winter season, we’re asking for your help to ensure a safe and smooth winter for everyone.
Parking
While there are no winter parking restrictions in Shorewood, your cooperation is greatly appreciated by keeping streets clear of parked cars and recreational items during snow and ice events. This allow plows to maintain roadways more safely and efficiently.
Snowplows
Please be cautious when driving near snowplows. These large trucks have limited visibility, so avoid passing them in blinding snow and don’t follow too closely. For children’s safety, please make sure they don’t build snow forts next to the street, as plow drivers may not be able to see them.
Adopt a Fire Hydrant
If there’s a fire hydrant near your property, you can help firefighters by “adopting” it. Please clear a path to the hydrant and remove snow from the area three feet around it. This simple action can save crucial time during a fire emergency.
