Water Efficiency Rebates
The City of Shorewood offers rebates for the purchase of WaterSense® certified toilets, smart irrigation controllers and irrigation spray sprinkler heads, as well as Energy Star® labeled clothes and dishwashers. Residents can submit a rebate application along with copies of receipts and photos of installed products to receive money back on their purchases.
- Applicant must be a resident of Shorewood and a city water customer.
- Toilet, controller, or washer unit must replace an already existing toilet, controller, or washer in your home.
- Products must be WaterSense® or Energy Star® certified.
- All rebates are subject to replacement and installation verification.
Water Efficiency Rebates are made possible through support from the Metropolitan Council and the Clean Water & Land Legacy Amendment.
- $100 for WaterSense® toilets (maximum two per Shorewood residential property)
- $150 for residential WaterSense® irrigation controllers
- $10 per WaterSense® sprinkler head replacement (maximum 15 sprinkler heads)
- $100 for Energy Star® certified clothes washer
- $100 for Energy Star® certified dishwasher
- Shorewood property owners who are customers of the municipal water supply system that replace qualifying equipment with WaterSense® or Energy Star® products.
- Rebate items must be installed within the City of Shorewood into an existing home. New construction does not qualify.
- All products must be certified WaterSense® or Energy Star® and be on the provided list of eligible products.
Commercial property managers should contact the city. Multi-family and commercial properties may qualify for larger rebate quantities. This funding is available until funds are exhausted. Applications are first come, first served. All rebates will be in the form of a utility bill credit from City of Shorewood.
The following products purchased on/after July 28, 2024, could qualify for rebates.
- Replacing existing toilets with high-efficiency, WaterSense® certified units.
- Replace existing irrigation system controllers and sprinkler heads with WaterSense® units.
- Replace clothes washers and/or dishwashers with Energy Star® certified appliances.

Complete this form, upload a detailed copy of the retailer receipt/invoice, and a photo of the installed product.
